Kristen shares, “We designed the Ark on napkins and then we drew up the plans on AutoCAD and went looking for a boat builder. The design is unique and the blank canvas we created became the place it is now because we stayed on it until we had it all worked out. Down to the right decorations, colour schemes and even the sliding metal window shutters with our logo cut into them. And before we even rented it out it became the venue we used to get married on.” As the dynamic duo created all the designs and guided the construction of the floating home, for themselves and to rent out for getaways, they had all the details in mind. This included everything they would wish to experience and use themselves when staying in their innovative home on the water. With the gorgeous backdrop of the Murray River, guests can enjoy each sunrise and sunset surrounded by nature. We supply firewood during the winter for the wood fire. Winter can be a beautiful time at the Ark. It’s tranquil, the marina is quiet and the fire makes retreating indoors a pleasure. “We have everything you would expect in any land-based apartment and even things you wouldn’t, including an outdoor bath and hot outdoor shower! We are permanently moored and the Ark is not designed to go anywhere, and why would you because everything is surrounding you. You turn up and unwind!” “We aim for everyone to feel like they’ve discovered something amazing when they leave and can’t wait to come back.” The wildlife is incredible and much welcomed by the Ark’s guests as they wish to immerse themselves in the natural world. Additionally, this luxury experience grounds guests and sparks their deeper connection with nature. Guests can view pelicans, swans, coots, darters, and even possums in abundance from the Ark.
