Canadian Business Awards 2026 | 15 Cruise the Shore for Charity Society (Cruise the Shore) is an annual fundraising weekend event that showcases unique, rare, custom, hot rod and collector vehicles along with fun, familyfriendly activities. Completely volunteer organised and fully run by a British Columbia-based Society, all proceeds from the event go towards charities that benefit North Shore (North and West Vancouver) residents. At the heart of Cruise the Shore are several core values which are integral to the smooth operation of the annual event. These consist of: acting with integrity; being volunteer-led to bring nonfor-profit activities to the area; and being community inclusive, enabling every resident to join in and enjoy. Over the years, the fundraiser has become increasingly popular, with more charities coming on board and enquiring about how they can participate. Likewise, classic car owners, along with the corporate community, have heard about the events’ contribution to the community, and it has subsequently evolved from a ‘car show’ to a ‘family’ event, with increasing attendance seen year-onyear, particularly from the younger generation, beyond traditional “baby boomers” who are usually the main demographic audience. To date, Cruise the Shore is the only regional public auto event that includes representation from all genre sectors, including rare, unique, classic, custom, and hot rod. It is also the only regional event that promotes the charity benefit and hold this at the very heart of its offerings. However, the organisation has become aware that, thanks to its fundraising activities, there are an increasing number With community at its very heart, Cruise the Shore for Charity Society raises funds each and every year to ensure that local charities of the wider region benefit directly. Best Community Benefit Event - Vancouver of traditional-style car shows which are now similarly raising funds to donate to charities, meaning that Cruise the Shore’s influence is spreading far and wide. “The show is an eclectic representation of all sectors of the automobile hobby,” explains Dan London, who has been the catalyst for organising the show since 2017. Regarding the internal culture of all those involved in the organisation of the annual show, Dan tells us that community and inclusion is prevalent here too, with all volunteers dedicated to collectively planning and executing decisions, and having fun whilst they are doing it! Recently, for its charity endeavours and growing success, Cruise the Shore gained notable recognition at the Canadian Business Awards 2026, and was bestowed with the prestigious title of Best Community Benefit Event – Vancouver.
