Recently, one of the firm’s partners, Dr. Patrick Giesler found success in CV’s Corporate Excellence Awards where he was selected as theMost Outstanding Business Lawyer of 2019 – Germany. On the back of this win, we caught up with Dr. Giesler who provided us with a detailed insight into the firmand the award-winning services he provides. Delivering Tailored Services to Your Legal Needs Since their inception, Busse & Miessen combines a fresh perspective with more than 60 years of tradition. With a total of more than 25 lawyers, BUSSE & MIESSEN is a medium-sized operation by Ger- man standards, pursues a policy preferring strict quality standards, highly personalized client-lawyer relations and arm’s length working processes over rapid growth. The firm is active in the field of Franchise Law throughout Germa- ny and other European countries. Today, Busse & Miessen are advi- sors to more than 150 franchisors in Europe and North America. Going into further detail, Dr. Gies- ler begins by informing us of the areas the firm specializes within, as well as the clients they serve. “With regards to Franchise Law, we are constantly representing the interests of approx. 250 Fran- chisors from all over Europe and the USA. Alongside this, we are also advising our clients regarding the setting and the expansion their franchise Networks, which includes strategic considera- tions, drafting of agreements and franchise manuals and negotiating with contractual partners. “The clients at the Franchise Practice Group at our law firm are solely franchisors. Some of these franchisors operate large interna- tional franchise networks, doing business in 40 or 50 countries. Others are smaller companies, which have just started expanding their respective brand.” Busse & Miessen have particular experience in the development, reorganization and expansion of franchise networks. It’s Franchise Practice Group focuses exclu- sively on advising Franchisors and Master Franchisees in the optimization and management of franchise network. Over the years, Dr. Giesler has been involved in the establishment of more than 180 franchise systems. In addition to this, Dr. Giesler is also the President of the interna- tional franchise Lawyers Associ- ation (IFLA), associated expert at the German Franchise Association (DFV), as well as member of the Supervisory Board of a franchise company. Looking ahead to what the future holds, Dr. Giesler hopes to further expand his already impressive portfolio of work, especially follow- ing his recent success in Corpo- rate Vision’s Corporate Excellence Awards where he was righteously awarded the accolade Most Out- standing Business Lawyer of 2019 – Germany.
