Apprenticeships will form a key part of this, providing people with practical experience. The team at The World of Work Ltd (WoW) have been delivering apprenticeships successfully for years. We take a closer look in this special issue of Corporate Vision Magazine. Since January 2013, learners have been working alongside the team at The World of Work, preparing themselves for career in vocation subjects the require a little more practical work. With the ability to deliver courses on a variety of different topics, it has become a mainstay of the educational community in London. Since being established, the team at The World of Work have run many Apprenticeship & Short Course NVQ/QCF provision at Levels 2-5. These courses cover Hair & Beauty, Health & Social Care, Education & Training (Lifelong Learning Sector), Business Administration, Retail & Commercial Enterprise and Customer Service. To ensure that all learners are able to engage with the program, the decision to mix teaching methods was taken. As such classroom, work-based, blended & e-learning all play a major part in the education process. What makes The World of Work stand out is the flexibility that it is able to show to apprentices and employers alike. This means that any feedback can be quickly implemented, with flexible courses that suit the needs of the learner. This is because the team has championed itself amongst local businesses, learners can get experience in local & sector specific communities, giving them a unique opportunity to explore what they will be expected to do when the course is complete. A large, and growing, network of experienced trainers are on hand to provide the best support, with state of the art facilities such as Hair & Beauty salons, ICT rooms, Health & Social Care clinical rooms on hand for any work that is necessary. Thanks to this tireless search for the utmost quality, The World of Work has secured a 100% Achievement rate with Advanced Learner loan government courses. Recently, the team have been able to reinvest their success into creating better facilities for learners to use. A new building has been built from the ground up specifically for use by The World of Work. It includes Daycare Services for lonely and isolated elderly adults, a cafeteria for staff/students, ICT Classroom, Healthcare Classroom, a Library, staff admin space/offices, and a Hospital style healthcare clinic. This self-funded project is a demonstration of the success with which The World of Work operates. Of course, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, much work has been taken online, but the team have adapted quickly, ensuring a smooth transition to the firm’s new e-learning platform. Learners have come to praise the courses for their exceptional quality, with The World of Work team combining the feedback of learners, staff and employers to ensure the service that it delivers is the best it can possibly be. The team keep in close contact with each learner, hosting a weekly check-up to ensure that everything is running smoothly for all parties. It’s an approach that continues to pay off, with many learners going on to find success in the sectors that they have trained in.
