Aug22173 Best Environmental Education Provider – London Urban development often leads to nature and greenery being cast aside. In addition, media and digital entertainment have led to fewer children indulging in the great outdoors. Nature & Bliss is here to change that by nurturing a few green thumbs and reigniting a love of the outside. Fromworkshops to after-school activities and holiday clubs, it works to cultivate a new generation of plant lovers. Founded in 2019 by Pascale Rochefeuille, Nature & Bliss creatively brings something new to urban areas. It provides solutions that are accessible, centralised and, fills the needs of local communities that lack access to high-quality activities and programmes. It is a small team of passionate people who want to make a difference in people’s lives, increasing the level of well-being of children and bringing a higher quality environmental education that is fun and memorable. Pascale is a trained Early Years Montessori educator, an environmental manager, and the Environmental Coordinator of the Growing Space Project. She is also a Forest school leader, a Youth Mental health First Aider, and a trained Maternity Nurse & Parental coach. She seeks to use her vast expertise and understanding of how connecting people to the natural world. The overall mission of Nature & Bliss is to bring nature closer to people, and vice versa Pascale and her team are determined to spread their love for nature. It provides varied activities and accommodates children aged two to twelve, teaching them how to explore nature and creative ways. Nature & Bliss highlights that there is always something new and fun to learn. Its vision is to create awareness of the need to protect wildlife – especially in urban areas – by nurturing a growing passion for nature from a very early age. Its workshops, clubs, and events are exciting, engaging, and educational ways to demonstrate how indulging in nature can help practically and with people’s well-being. Beyond this, however, a strong focus of Nature & Bliss’ is how caring for the environment together can be an excellent relationship-building exercise. An example of one of the activities Nature & Bliss hosts is the creation of ‘Edible teaching gardens.’ Involved in the consultation process, it crafts an experience that teaches children – and any adults who tag along – how to best use what nature provides and to re-cycle what man has made as far as possible. Even during Covid, when attendee numbers were limited to eight to ten children at a time and its activities were reduced, it still managed to deliver after-school activities and clubs. Taking note of the pandemic and safety instruction, it continued to operate outdoors and provide children with an escape into the beauty of the outdoors. Nature & Bliss continues to develop and widen educational offerings by introducing new collaborators, such as the local council. It is currently preparing for an Eco-Exhibition in one of the local libraries. It is also working with the Growing Space Project to reach out more to the community and help build a new ‘edible teaching garden’ at St Sarkis Church in 2023. Finally, it also aims to introduce more varied classes and clubs to its repertoire, alongside efforts to encourage a more comprehensive age demographic to attend them. There is no stopping Nature & Bliss. Pascale and her team are fuelled by a clear passion not just for nature and the outdoors, but also for inspiring the same level of adoration for the Earth in others. Its work with local authorities, schools, and other environmental groups is a testament to its success and the trust they have in its mission.
