Having recognised the franchise in our 2018 Franchise Awards we profile it to find out more about how it has flourished since its inceptionmore than 25 years ago. Initially established in 1993, following 10 years of perfecting the business model Maid2Clean set up a franchise operation in 2003. The company decided that franchising was the best way to meet the recession-proof demand for cleaning and ironing services, and since beginning the franchising business it has flourished, supporting a wide range of clients across the UK and Ireland. Today, the firm offers a management agency type franchise at the forefront of the domestic cleaning sector. Franchisees operate their own Maid2Clean cleaning operations serving cash-rich but time poor residential householder clients. Unique to the market, the secret behind the success of Maid2Clean is that it provides a turn-key lean based business model compared to its industry competitors. Maid2Clean’s valued franchisees operate without the overheads and constraints that plague competitors in the domestic cleaning field such as staff, cleaning materials, equipment and transportation. They also receive a long-term automated residual income. Thanks to this supportive approach, more than 90% of Maid2Clean’s franchisees renew their franchise licenses, which is a significantly higher percentage than that of its competitors. Whilst the UK Maid2Clean Franchise operation still has a limited number of unsold trading territories the business welcomes enquiries from prospective franchisees to operate at local level. International expansion is also at the forefront of the franchise’s focus with the ongoing aim to expand internationally by Master Franchise route into commonwealth countries to support an even more diverse clients moving forward.
