Global Business Awards 2020
Global Business Awards 2020 13 have the ability to become film producers, developers of future technologies, marketing experts, accountants, architects, artists, and philosophers. Some of the greatest people in the world, past and present, are autistic, including Tim Burton, Lewis Carroll, Susan Boyle, Bill Gates, Thomas Jefferson, Stanley Kubrick, Michelangelo, Mozart, and Andy Warhol to name but a few. At present, KO-NEKT is only available in North Ayrshire, however in January 2021 the second will swiftly follow in its footsteps in the South of Ayrshire. With the right backing and the willingness of communities, these two KO-NEKT’s will soon be part of a national change for families, seeing well over thirty opening in Scotland alone by 2026. The beauty of what Marianne has built in KO-NEKT, and her core belief that people are better together, is that the two can be fused together now. Expansion of KO-NEKT cannot happen without the support of communities everywhere. Its ability to be self-funded through income generation and building community wealth, as well as offering support to all families who require it, is at the heart of everything that it does. Local people, just like Marianne, can make a real, tangible impact on people’s lives by supporting these children and young people with autism and additional support needs. Using a franchise model of business with franchisees that are connected to a KO-NEKT Central hub of support, means that anyone can get involved with this coming to life. The central hub will contain access to a wealth of professional support, from lawyers and accountants, to designers, care workers, and social enterprise business growth managers, all of which are accessible to the franchisee. Everything comes back to community, and Marianne is at the heart of it, supporting and encouraging every single person she comes into contact with. Each centre will form part of a network so that, no matter where a child is in the country, they can attend a KO-NEKT ‘skills’ centre and have the support they need. Investors, corporate sponsorship, or even partnerships with agencies and businesses; all things can help KO-NEKT become the service that could change lives in miraculous ways. Marianne’s love for people and communities has transformed her into one of the finest community wealth builders that any community would be proud to have. In keeping with her outstanding ethos, there is a chance for the whole of the United Kingdom to come together as one community now, and support children and young people with additional support needs and autism like never before.
