4 CORPORATE VISION / 2017 HR & Training Awards , Mª Luisa deMiguel is Executive Director of the School of Mentoring, the most experienced company in Spain in the field of mentoring. We invitedMaria Luisa DeMiguel, to tell us more about the award and the long-establishedMentoring school. Mª Luisa de Miguel Escuela De Mentoring is a mentoring school holding 15 years of experience in mentoring, implementing mentoring programs in different organizations, developing mentoring guides and evaluating mentoring programs. It is the first internationally certified Spanish Speaking Mentoring School. Maria talks about the excellence of the school and goes into detail about the certifications the company holds, further highlighting its position as one of the leading mentoring schools in the industry. “Firstly, we belong to the EMCC (European Mentoring & Coaching Council) and to the AICM (International Association of Coaching and Mentoring) which has accredited both our School and our training programs. “Secondly, since 2016, we have expanded our borders and we have already established in Guatemala and Peru, and we are currently negotiating the opening of other venues in various Spanish speaking countries.” Talking about her own role as Executive Director at the company, Maria discusses how she is looking at expanding the school internationally, as well as within Spain. The mission and vision of the company is embedded throughout the whole team, and starts with Maria, “Essentially, my work as Executive Director focuses mainly on designing the expansion of the School both in Spain and internationally, developing new work methodologies, research and incorporation of new tools, methods and practices to mentoring, creating a network of mentors and entities dedicated to the mentoring that work from our essence and methodology. In short to grow mentoring by innovating, expanding borders, establishing networks.” What helps to differentiate the mentoring school apart from other schools, aside from its accreditations and qualifications is the firm’s own methodology. Maria describes how the school are constantly looking to improve, taking on feedback and using this in order to improve the service that it delivers to customers. “Vital to our success, we work with our own methodology, integral generative mentoring that has been validated and contrasted throughout all these years of work. One of our distinguishing elements is the integration of R + D + I in the Mentoring: Continuous research to improve knowledge about this practice, learning through experience in the development of mentoring programs, and Innovation arising from the evaluation of the programs, feedback from participants and our community mentoring network.” Networking is a key aspect of the school’s success, as Maria alludes to. The school work on network mentoring in order to create a network of relationships between stakeholders which enhances the benefits and results of mentoring, generating a culture of mentoring in the organization and to promote change and learning within it. “At Escuela De Mentoring, we have our own network of mentors accredited by the School of Mentoring, who pass an arduous selection process to form part of our network, with the aim of ensuring that they perfectly embody the mentor model that underlies our methodology. And in the same line we have designed an international certification program in mentoring, which is accredited by the International Coaching and Mentoring Association, for the professional training of mentors under our own methodology. “Furthermore, as a result of our experience and research this HR170004
