Recently, Hallam Safety were asked to plan and deliver a health and safety seminar for a trade association. This was a new and completely different area for the firm, the team provided a programme of current health and safety topics and also those on the horizon. The team also engaged with the heads of health and safety who were members of the association, and assembled and briefed a range of speakers on these meaningful topics. Topics included mental health, claims defensibility, workplace transport and load security to name a few. Finally, the event was delivered with over 85 delegates in attendance. The event was a complete success which received extremely good feedback. Building upon this success, Hallam Safety is keen, moving forward, to be involved in more such events and deliver keys health and safety messages to a wide variety of new clients. This will help the firm to grow even further and enhance its already impressive portfolio of satisfied clients over the years to come. Alongside this development, the firm is also eager to adapt around emerging developments it sees within the health and safety market today. Over the past few years the world of safety has charged off towards wellbeing and mental health. This subject is generating much interest and so it should, workplace fatalities in the UK between 2017/2018 were 144 however approximately 4000 suicides of working age people were recorded last year. Most workplaces have first aiders for physical injuries such as cuts and grazes however there is nothing for mental health. As such, Hallam Safety aim to start rolling out mental health first aid training in the very near future, and this will enable the company to continue to offer cutting-edge solutions to its valued clients.
