Corporate Vision Issue 1 2021

e-bike, launched in 2016, to provide a solution fit for a new generation of cyclists. This was followed in 2019 by the E-FIT pedal-assist electric bike. The values of PBSC have been key to ensuring that the firm has been able to thrive in a rapidly changing landscape. The team know that as people continue to change how they want to access things, they must change too. The development of new systems, including an improved website and app in 2020 was a characteristic development from a team who wanted a brand that truly reflected their thoughts and view of the world. One thing that differentiates PBSC from the competition is their unique e-charging stations technology that recharge ebikes quickly and directly at the smart station. The team’s view of the world is one that is passionate about bringing health, empathy, and happiness to the world. All of their business decisions revolve around these three factors. They are always looking to surpass their goals, making a clear difference to future generations. Building a solid team, one which knows how to embrace these values and apply them to every aspect of their work, is key to the team’s success. Now, as PBSC has been part of 400M trips, it’s clear that they’ve achieved enormous and enviable success. Perhaps nothing encapsulates the success of their mission like the 65M kg of CO2 saved last year alone. As the team’s vision of micromobility solutions continues to spread, we’re sure to see that number rise for years to come. On Your Bike! The urban landscape requires unique solutions to make it more healthy, efficient and fun. Incorporating bikes into the way cities work is just one way of doing this. Named the Most Innovative Micromobility Solutions Company in Corporate Vision’s Logistics Warehouse and Supply Chain Awards 2020, we take a closer look at how PBSC Urban Solutions has gone from Montreal innovation to an international sensation. Launched in 2008, PBSC was inspired by a vision of active people, dynamic cities, and a healthy planet. Twelve years on, this vision remains at the forefront of the team’s work ethic. By focusing on micromobility solutions, the team have managed to make an enormous impact at ground level, changing the way in which people live their lives for the better. When PBSC started, the team couldn’t have known that their innovation would spread over the globe. The solution is a simple one, where bikes are shared and made accessible to all. First put into place in 2009, with 3,000 bikes and 300 stations, the global uptake has been truly astonishing. As of 2020, 90K bikes are in circulation, with over 7K stations around the world. The easy adaptability of the system was proven in 2010, when London in the UK, Melbourne in Australia, and Washington D.C. in the USA all took up the PBSC method. People were inspired by the vision, and wanted to create something in their own busy cities that could match the improvement seen in Montreal. Of course, the growth of the firm has not just been in expanding its reach to new countries and borders, such as Barcelona, Dubaï, Monaco and Rio de Janeiro, though this has been key to success. The team has taken the time to invest extraordinary amounts in the development of new technology, engineering and design.
