Jan20129 Dentistry with a Difference When it comes to healthcare, dentistry is often overlooked and ignored. However, in North York, Toronto there has been a revolution in the way that dentistry is seen. Under the stewardship of Anaida Deti, DentalX has earned Corporate Vision’s prestigious Corporate Excellence award for Most Influential Leader in Healthcare 2020 – Toronto. We profiled the company to spotlight just how it managed it. Just north of the Downsview Subway Station, DentalX offers something a little different to other dental clinics. With a high rate of immigrants in the area (46%), this clinic makes sure to place the customer first and foremost. As such, she partnered up with charities to give cleaning services, fluoride treatments, x-rays and emergency treatments to clients ranging from pregnant teenagers, young parents and their children. This work was done alongside her own ongoing program to provide free dental care to youth from families facing financial hardship. She has gained coverage on Rogers Daytime Television, Sirius XM Radio’s What She Said, GlobalTV as well as writing for organisations such as the Huffington Post, Thrive Global and Inside Toronto as their dental blogger. At the end of the day, this is just another method of raising the profile of dental hygiene and creates an impressive amount of goodwill towards her business.
