Issue 3 2021

Issue 3 2021 29 Continuous Improvement Program, created to evaluate processes and policies in order to evolve to the relevant needs of the business, its employees and clients, CSM is continually growing to be better, an evolution that has been recognized with further awards such as Best Employer of the Year and the Psychological and Health Organization (Local and National). Honors and accreditations such as these continue to attract some of the best talent to the CSM team, only enhancing the group’s competitivity in its market. A significant part of CSM’s development centers around its digital innovation and transformation, facilitated by the group’s use of stateof-the-art insurance technology systems that enable close monitoring of advanced client services for the benefit of customers, employees, owners and the Puerto Rican community as a whole. Now, in the face of major adversity in the form of the ongoing global pandemic, CSM has relied on its digital capacity more than ever before, taking the crisis as an opportunity to launch a new service channel through Amazon’s Alexa Skills. The first of its kind in Puerto Rico and Latin America, the new digital channel works to support the services already provided by CSM’s mobile application, website and social platforms, taking a great step forward in the firm’s digital evolution in a time where technological innovation is crucial to success. With this focus on greater innovation, technology, and a more diversified landscape, GCSM is aiming towards a more agile company that, from a financial standpoint, will continue to strengthen its capital base so as to provide greater services and better benefits to clients and the island’s cooperative movement as a whole. Whilst this may have its challenges, particularly in a future that is as uncertain as the one that confronts so many across the globe, GCSM has set forth a clear roadmap in its Strategic Plan, that will hopefully offer some stability as the firm continues to work towards its goals over the next five years. Incorporating more specific elements for each of its companies, GCSM has broken down its plan for the overall strengthening of the group into five core strategies: Growth, Profitability, Subsidiary Investment, Business Risk Management, and Social Profitability. In establishing its plan, GCSM is striving to emphasize the maintenance of the high standard of service its clients have come to rely on. “We are aware that our financial achievements, as well as brand recognition, are largely due to the trust and sponsorship of our customers, and the effort and commitment of our Human Resources team, Management team, and Board of Directors,” says a spokesperson of GCMS. As the firm looks ahead, it will continue to honor these commitments, remaining devoted to its development for the sake of its clients, the cooperative movement, and Puerto Rico.
