Following theirwin, a spokesperson for Elaghmore provided us with a detailed overviewof the outstanding firm, revealingmore about the secrets behind the remarkable success they have had since their inception. Elaghmore : Transforming Companies Founded in 2004, Elaghmore is a private investment partnership special- ising in transforming company performance. Led by David Manning, Andy Ducker, Greg Koral and David Morley, the business has a strong track record of investing in and growing businesses. Focusing on small to mid-cap UK industrial companies, we have worked across multiple sectors, including transport, engineering, chemicals, packaging, food, construction and textiles. We are proud of our specialist expertise and the ability to implement long term growth. Strategy At Elaghmore, our primary aim is always the same – to create a platform for strong growth and real long-term value. We work closely with management teams, we are straight talking and hands-on, drawing on the skills of our indus- try specialists. The companies we partner with have the following attributes: • Strong management team • Opportunities to use our proven operational skills to aid organic growth. Organic growth accounts for the majority of the value we create, and typically we aim to double revenue within four years. • An attribute of differentiation, whether that is a market leading position or a product that offers a competitive edge. • For companies in fragment- ed markets, opportunities to make bolt-on acquisitions to strengthen market position or enhance product offering. Portfolio Over more than a decade, the partners have invested in a dozen businesses, and achieved, an average 7.6 times return on cap- ital. These include Dane Group, Ely Chemicals, Dunlopillo, and Chaucer Foods. In late 2016, Elaghmore closed the oversubscribed £60 million Elaghmore 1 LP fund, with invest- ment from significant institutions in the US and Europe. So far, we have acquired five companies: • Kesslers – one of Europe’s leading designers and man- ufacturers of retail displays and merchandising • Alucraft Group – Ireland’s leading designer, manufac- turer and installer of architec- tural glazing In addition to this, we have also created the Total Vehicle Solutions (“TVS”) Group, and acquired: • Priden Engineering - one of the UK’s foremost engineer- ing companies • McPhee Mixers - a major UK manufacturer of concrete mixer units • SB Components - a leading supplier of bespoke com- ponents for commercial vehicles Each Group company operates autonomously and shares similar qualities, such as high-levels of technical expertise and customer service. Being part of the Group means the companies can cross- sell products to the combined cus- tomer list, share facilities across the UK to broaden their reach as well as share technical expertise and best-practice. Looking to the future, we are exploring other investment oppor- tunities with the aim of delivering returns above our current average to our investors over the lifetime of the fund.
