14 CORPORATE VISION / Issue 8 2018 , FreshMilk Software is the company behind ‘Flobot’, a cloud-based field service job management software. Following this, we spoke with FreshMilk’s Founder, Rob Barney, to find out howhe is involved with developing FreshMilk Software and driving the success of the business on a day-to-day basis. The Only Choice for Job Management Software Based out of Crystal Palace, London, Fresh Milk Software has developed one of the most highly- regarded pieces of software in the job management landscape. Hailed as a crucial tool for its customisable options, visibility, efficiency and ease of use, Flobot is a revelation. To start, Rob explains who they designed Flobot for, “It’s used by cleaning companies, facilities maintenance companies, plumbers, gas engineers, property maintenance companies, cleaners & maid services, mobile computer repairs, electricians, flooring companies, landscapers, removal & man and a van services, alarm fitters, artificial grass companies and carpet fitters. Essentially, anywhere a company is offering a service or product that needs someone to be somewhere at a certain time. Our clients are generally small to medium sized companies that have explored job management software solutions who are looking for software that has most of what they need but can be customised to give them exactly what they need.” “Our mission is to help service companies do what they do better. Reduce admin overheads, reduce red-tape, reduce business risk and increase profits and revenue. We do this by understanding the client’s business, mapping the software to their current procedures, often suggesting how some procedures might be changed, removed or added to, to make the work-flow more efficient and then finally implementing the software.” It is this tailored approach that as earned them such a following of ardent fans – Flobot is designed, fundamentally, to fit the individual. This feeds back into the company culture, which nurtures an attitude that those that are passionate about what they do, do their best work “Everyone at Fresh Milk Software believes in what we are doing. It is highly motivating, it breeds a ‘can-do’ approach and that culture is infectious.” Naturally, as companies the world over adopt techniques to become more digitised, the future of the services industry is likely to be very different from what it is today. Rob agrees, and believes that AI in particular will have a large part to play; “We are seeing more automation and more software use, and we are going to see artificial intelligence make significant changes to how service companies operate. With Google AI now able to book an appointment with a human to provide them with a service, we are trying very hard to replace the human who talks to the Google AI with Flobot AI!” Regarding the future of Fresh Milk Software, “We have some very exciting projects and technical developments; including an AI scheduler that will allow a company to schedule engineers, without having any human interaction and schedule those engineers in the most efficient slots and locations to bring efficiencies in reduced fuel consumption, wasted time, to increase the productivity of the field team, allow the company to schedule 24 hours a day, as well as reducing the administration and office staff overhead significantly.” To finish, Rob speaks of Fresh Milk’s expansion into overseas markets, “And we are moving into new markets. In India, we have a new partner in Bangalore and we are helping to bring our first Indian client on in the next few weeks.
