Corporate Vision Issue 8

22 CORPORATE VISION / Issue 8 2018 , Established in 1994, Freightgate has built a solid reputation as one of the leading solution providers for the global logistics industry. Freightgate was recently recognized by the Corporate Excellence Awards with the title of 2018’s Leaders for Logistics Cloud Technology Solutions. We recently spoke with Freightgate’s CEO, MartinHubert, to find out how they have become one of the most highly-regarded firms operating in this challenging sector. Freightgate: The Future of Logistics Solutions Freightgate operates an information management platform that simplifies the global supply chain for its customers. With an eye towards visibility, Freightgate processes thousands of data feeds, from flight and sailing schedules to tariffs and IoT/GPS data, into a form that ultimately simplifies their client’s business processes and makes them more efficient. Making the complex simple is at the heart of what they do. When we sat down with Martin, we asked him about Freightgate’s on-boarding process for new clients and projects. “We jointly discuss with our clients their current state of operations, as well as where they would like to be. We facilitate process improvement through workflows, robotic process automation and machine learning algorithms. We thoroughly learn our customer’s business and operations and custom configure the software to their unique needs and business processes.” Ultimately, Martin explains, “our firm’s overall mission is to help our clients automate their business processes and gain deep visibility into their supply chain. We want to help them become more efficient and more responsive to their clients.” Martin emphasizes the innovation- first culture that exists within the company, as all employees are actively encouraged to bring ideas to the table. “We live the open-door policy where members of our team are treated as vital cogs in the global logistics wheel. Every employee is invited to bring possible improvements and showstoppers to the table. Our customers value our solution- oriented thinking.” This ties neatly into Freightgate’s approach to differentiating themselves from potential competitors, as Martin highlights. “Our biggest differentiator is our ability to customize our software to our client’s needs. We’ve built a platform that is easily configurable. This also helps us meet challenging timelines and help our customers achieve maximum return on investment.” Naturally, this differentiation, offering a service that is tailored and integrated seamlessly to the client’s specifications, is crucial to the firm’s future. “We’ve seen some of our competitors disappearing due to acquisition and some specializing into certain fields. This speaks against comprehensive solutions and an integrated collaboration philosophy. This is where we try to differentiate ourselves from the market.” In recent months, the logistics industry has seen additional challenges. “We serve multinational manufacturers and international logistics providers throughout the world. Right now, the industry is being impacted by trade wars. This brings to light several challenges shippers, carriers and 3PLs face in terms of shipping goods across borders. New policies went into effect, which may cause new documentation to be submitted. New fees are imposed, and new non-tariff regulations may also be imposed. Companies were trying to get product on the sea into port before the new tariffs went into effect. To overcome one 1808CV20 challenge, there are a multitude of factors that come into play.” The secret to thriving in such an environment is swift adaption and need recognition. As such, Freightgate’s staff works tirelessly to improve the platform – from updating the user interface to incorporating machine learning. Looking ahead, Martin said, “From what we’ve seen, more and more Fortune 500 companies seek to improve their logistics processes with more agile partners than the usual big names. With our flexibility and customization features, we support their global processes. We welcome anyone that would like to discuss their unique Logistics Challenges with the Freightgate team to see how to apply our out-of-the-box ideas, IoT, block-chain, AI and machine learning capabilities to their advantage.” Contact: Martin Hubert Company: Freightgate Address: 10055 Slater Ave, Fountain Valley, California, 92708, United States Website: www.freightgate.com Telephone: +1 714 799 2833
