EASTSLEEP LIMITED It is Peter Green’s mission not only to enhance the homes of its neighbours with its beautiful and affordable furniture and flooring, but the team also strive to create a sense of community amongst its customers. Chris tells us a bit more about the effort that goes in to pleasing customers, not just supplying the best furniture and flooring. “We enjoy showing our customers’ photos and paintings, at special artist’s gallery evenings thrown in celebration of their work. We offer very popular Networking evenings for local business people to gather and exchange information. The Peter Green Coffee Shop is a meeting place for the many. We welcome interest groups such as book clubs, knitting circles, language groups and people with special interests, to gather over a cup of our famous coffee. Our dog and child friendly Coffee Shop that has a mouth-watering menu of home cooked hot and cold foods”. Owner, Wendy Martin Green is eager to highlight the firm’s focus on quality and how the firm has been working hard to provide excellence since inception. “For almost two decades Peter Green traded from the Southampton Road location, in Eastleigh and its name became synonymous with fair prices, quality and service. Then in 1985 the business relocated to School Lane in Chandlers Ford and the old buildings were demolished to make way for the new Swan Centre. Today, the business is run by me as Chairman and Chris Williams as Managing Director and although it has evolved it still upholds my father’s original commitment to price, quality and service, dear to its heart. Nowadays most items are placed on order, rather than the cash and carry business my father developed, because of the vast array of choices in styles and fabrics we can now offer our customers, this requires many pieces to be almost custom manufactured. We do, however, have our very own Peter Green Hampshire Collection, many items of which are still available for immediate delivery. “No longer is our furniture laid out in rows as it was in the sixties but is now displayed in modern room sets, accented with our own fabulous line of custom accessories, rugs and lighting, selected to complement our furniture. We still stock many of the trusted British brands such as Ercol, G Plan and Parker Knoll, that could be seen in Peter Green’s first store over 60 years ago, but now we have added many modern lines to our collection. We have one of the largest selections of beds in the county and a huge selection of flooring. We can match any colour carpet you need and can SB170003 weave the design of your choice or incorporate your logo. Our comprehensive Commercial Department, furnishes the workspaces of local businesses and institutions.” Chris describes just some of the diverse range of furniture supplied by the company. The firm’s products are all tailored to suit the client’s designs and requirements, something Chris is keen to point out. “Differentiating ourselves from others, our very own Peter Green Collection of furniture offers a wide range of contemporary and classical styles. Table tops and legs can be mixed and matched as can fabrics and wood finishes, all at astonishingly reasonable prices. We have styles and designs suitable for young couples setting up home, through to those who just want to freshen up their living spaces a little. Our Hampshire Carpet Collection is available in all grades of toughness and comes in both wool and manmade fibres. We are able to make a carpet in any colour our customer desires, weave in a design of their choice or duplicate their logo.” To ensure excellence for clients, Peter Green works to ensure a strong and supportive internal culture, as Chris explains. “The culture at Peter Green is simply ‘Customer First’ and everyone works together
