Having recognised the salon in our 2018 UK Excellence Awards, CVMagazine profiles it to showcase the secrets behind its incredible successful. Co-Founded by sisters-in-law Katie and Jade May, the Wonderlab is a chic hair salon with a focus on offering high-end styling a comforting environment. Whilst many exclusive, luxurious hair salons have a daunting atmosphere, the Wonderlab aims to be the antithesis to this and offer a welcoming, friendly space where clients can receive top-class treatments that will enhance their hair and keep it in top-condition. Having previously following separate career paths, Katie in PR and marketing and Jade a hairdresser in Chorleywood and the surrounding areas, these intrepid entrepreneurs came together to embark on their first venture as a team. They decided to pool their respective knowledge to provide a unique hairdressing service to a range of clients in their local area. An opportunity was identified to create something special, that would stand out from competitors, not just within the local area but would represent the standards and service expected of a West End salon. The aim of the Wonderlab is to offer the highest quality standards of hairdressing, market leading products whilst creating a friendly and approachable atmosphere. The design of the salon, developed by Roar Creativity, takes inspiration from a Victorian science laboratory, in-keeping with the salon’s name. Clients know that when they visit the Wonderlab, they will receive treatments backed by research which are guaranteed to transform their tresses. Today, as an exclusive Aveda salon, the Wonderlab fully embraces their mission of ‘Connecting beauty, environment and well-being’. As such, a Wonderlab experience will re- generate any clients’ cells and charge them with positive energy. Treatments offered include cutting, styling, Aveda hair treatments, Aveda haircare and Aveda Full Spectrum Colour, as well as specialist treatments such as Brazilian Blowouts. Bridal hair is also available so that clients can feel truly special on their big day. Whatever they are looking for, be it a weekly treat, a complete re-style to transform their look or simply space to balance their chakras and enjoy a pampering hair treatment, the Wonderlab can transform any client and provide them with the support and service they need to look and feel great. Alongside a range of treatments which can be tailored to suit each individual client’s style, taste and requirements, the Wonderlab has a clearly designated shopping area where guests can browse the array of products on offer and select those that will keep their hair looking the way they like it until their next appointment. With many clients facing increasingly busy lives, the Wonderlab aims to provide them with a truly hassle-free experience that will leave them feeling rejuvenated and relaxed. As part of this, the salon allows its clients to book an appointment 24 hours a day, seven days a week through the salon’s Facebook page or exclusive Wonderlab app. Ultimately, the Wonderlab provides its clients with a salon experience like no other, and moving forward Katie and Jade will be seeking to build upon their current success whilst at the same time retaining the client-focused approach that their esteemed clientele have come to expect and rely on.
