10 Corporate Vision / Canadian Business Awards 2018 , reviewed journal papers, to testimonials and trade articles) about our technology (products and processes), and educate them on the innovative aspects of our technologies as needed, to help them make informed decisions, as the remediation of contaminated sites is technically challenging, so working with the client we develop a strategy based approach they are involved in. “To ensure a good measure of QA/QC, we developed a standardized 1-page writable Site Evaluation Form (they do not want to fill out lengthy multi- paged excel spread sheets) we ask clients to ensure we have good set of Terms of Reference for each project site, providing us with the key site information that is at their fingertips. We have also standardized how we format our remediation proposals, and they all are peer reviewed before going out to the clients. “With regards to my leadership and the affect I have on this process, I always emphasize to my staff the importance of showing clients that we care, as this motivates us to work harder and deliver better results, and to be open minded to innovation. If our clients are having a good experience with our innovative remediation technologies, then they are successful, we are proud and we are successful in-turn.” Internally, the firm operates a boutique structure to ensure exceptional client service and flexibility, which allows true innovation in an ever evolving industry. George provides us with more detail on the firm’s structure and how this is central to its success. “Despite our global reach, at IVEY we remain a small company comprised of caring staff, and are proud that our small company is making an innovative dent on global environmental matters. I personally feel we do a good job of putting our egos in our back pockets and focusing on our client’s needs. We help extend our market reach domestically and globally through leveraging existing business relationships and with establishing Technical Sales Representatives that cover regions and or countries for Ivey. Alongside this, we have some contracted relationships with a few larger environmental consulting and contracting companies that we enjoy collaborating with on projects. “Fundamentally, we value our staff, and work hard to ensure they have adequate training, and opportunities for experience. A key example of this is the fact that we ensure all our technical sales representatives are trained on our technologies through interactive learning, so they know how to use our sales tools, and they initially shadow client calls and technical presentations. I also feel that it is very important they attend a minimum of three IVEY remediation site applications, which ensures that they have both the technical and applied understanding of the technology, have increased confidence, and they value us as we value them.” As a leader in this dynamic and innovative company, George has gained a strong understanding of the environmental technology industry over the years. He also draws on his multi- disciplinary education background, which includes organic chemistry and geological engineering, as well as a Master’s Certification in project management, all of which have provided him with a multi-disciplinary foundation for working on remediation sites. George is keen to showcase this knowledge as he explores the latest industry trends and how these have affected IVEY. “Working closely with clients and collaborators in the industry, the biggest trend I have seen over the last 25- 30 years is that the market has evolved from engineers Pre to Post Ivey-sol Soil Remediation at Refinery Site
