Following their success inCV’s CorporateExcellenceAwards 2019, we profiled thefirmand spoke toCEO, Ted Edwardswhoprovideduswitha detailed insight into the services Reharvest Timber Products Ltd offers their clients. Creating a Sustainable Future Established in 1994, Reharvest Timber Products Ltd man- ufacture premium products from waste wood that are eco-friendly and safe for children, animals, and nature alike. For a staggering 20 years, the firm have been undisputed in leading the market in this area. The firm’s name says it all; they REHARVEST used and unwant- ed timber to make a variety of products ranging from garden mulch, to playground Cushionfall, to animal and equestrian Cush- ionride. All of which are biode- gradable. Going into further detail, Ted begins by informing us of the products that Reharvest Timber Products Ltd offer to their clients. “ Enviromulch is our wood chip product created for gardening needs. It can be laid on flat or sloping surfaces since it is self-stabilising and wind resistant. It is excellent for inhibiting weed growth, aids in moisture retention and is nontoxic being free from seeds and disease. “ Playground Cushionfall , as with our Enviromulch, is self-stabilis- ing, inhibits weed growth and is nontoxic. Cushionfall has been rigorously tested and is the only five star rated surfacing in NZ. “Prior to product launch, we conducted an extensive two years of product development, followed by three years of onsite playground testing, leading to the mulch meeting NZ and Australia playground safety standards, and performing exceptionally well on international impact absorbency tests. Cushionfall is the preferred choice of multiple councils, Min- istry of Education, Kindergarten Associations, Playcentres Associ- ations, and Pre School Centres. “ Cushionride is our wood chip product for equestrian arenas. The special load-bearing wood- chip allows horses to travel over the surface, rather than through it, minimizing joint damage and causing less trauma to your hors- es’ hocks, knees and lower legs, consequently meaning less down- time when competing. Cushion- ride is made to a high technical specification for all-weather conditions and all year-around performance. It aids in drainage, so it doesn’t freeze, and puddles aren’t an issue either.” Priding themselves on being part of a sustainable future, Reharvest Timber Products Ltd’s woodchip mulch products are made from 100% recycled waste wood, reducing landfill and helping in waste minimisation efforts. In addition to this, the team at Reharvest Timber Products Ltd are passionate about the safety of their products, as Ted explains. “Here at Reharvest Timber Products Ltd, we are truly devoted to ensuring supreme quality and safety. For the past 15 years, we have been working tirelessly to perfect our grinder that produces our wood chip, so that it removes all traces of nails, staples and hazardous metals/materials, and has no sharp edges. Since safety is paramount, we implement an extensive testing regime every two to three years, evaluating the impact efficiency of the wood chips being produced.” Helping the firm to future proof our world, is Reharvest Timber Products Ltd’s sister company, Wastewood Management, which enables the company to collect the wood they use to make their products. When discussing Wastewood Management, Ted highlights the ways in which the firm helps to create a sustainable future. “Reharvest Timber Products Ltd believe that the more waste wood we utilize for our environmentally sustainable product, the more we can aid in saving unnecessary landfill. As such, Wastewood Management offers an eco-friend- ly wood disposal facility as an alternative to landfill by collecting your waste wood products.” Looking ahead to what the future holds, the team at Reharvest Tim- ber Products Ltd hope to continue to provide their clients with a safe environment for them, especially following their recent success in Corporate Vision’s Corporate Excellence Awards 2019 where they were selected as the Most Outstanding Landscape Supply Provider 2019 - New Zealand.
