Following their success in CV’s 2019 Corporate Excellence Awards 2019, we caught up with TomDevlinwho provided us with a glimpse into the innerworkings of the firm. Igniting A Creative Spark Established in 2016, the seeds of KYC Global Technologies had already been sown in the experi- ence of their Founder, Stephen Platt who conducted multiple sys- temically important regulatory in- vestigations into the financial crime compliance of financial institutions around the world. Collectively, the team have over 150 years of inves- tigating and remediating business- es’ AML compliance environments. Tom begins by explaining to us the three key things their extraordinary experience has taught them. “Firstly, legacy screening tools are not fit for purpose in combating financial crime in the 21st Century. The second point is that business- es are struggling to meet the data challenge and are failing to utilise the data they hold to manage risk effectively and drive effective risk governance. Finally, despite spending an ever increasing amount on compliance headcount, AML compliance failures and resulting enforcement actions against financial institutions are increasing because legacy technol- ogy is inadequate. “Since our inception, we resolved to develop next generation screening and data analytics software that facilitated a paradigm shift in AML compliance. That is what we have done. Now over 700 businesses, regulators and law enforcement agencies across the world use our technologies to combat financial crime.” Today, the team at KYC Global Technologies work with a cadre of exceptional software engineers who have been able to build solutions to the highest quality and technical specifications to fulfil their clients’ requirements. Enabling the firm to deliver these award-winning services, is the experienced, committed and hard-working team which forms the backbone of KYC Global Technologies. When discussing the internal culture, Tom highlights how the team are all equal, receiving regular training and support that is always readily available. “We have a flat structure internally. Regular training is provided to all of our staff, both from internal and external sources. This ranges from subject-matter insight to infor- mation security; we are currently in the process of obtaining ISO 27001 certification. In addition, a large volume of video and text resources is available to support new or re-enrolling staff to ensure that they are fully conversant with our market sector.” Looking ahead to what the future holds, the team at KYC Global Technologies hope to build upon the numerous accomplishments they have achieved over the years which includes being selected in Corporate Vision’s 2019 Corpo- rate Excellence Awards where they were recognised as the Most Innovative AML Software Solutions Provider – 2019.
