The salon provides professional standard services including lash extensions, brow styling and tinting including henna, lash lifts, make-up application, bespoke facials, acrylic nails, gel nails, and hair services including extensions, while the academy offers training courses in lash extensions and brow styling and tinting. All courses are accredited by Beauty Industry Approval and insurable upon receiving the qualification. Bloom’s mission is to create a new generation of lash artists who have extensive knowledge in all areas of lash application, lash care and lash health. There is a huge gap in the market where other training providers are not providing enough knowledge to students. Students leave simply not knowing anything more than how to apply a lash extension. Lashes are multi-billion pound industry, which requires a lot of skill and care. If this knowledge is not taught at the beginning, the industry will be left with lash artists who are unknowingly damaging eyelashes. In order to create this new generation of lash techs, the academy has created and self-written a full course manual, touching on all areas of lash knowledge. These manuals are regularly reviewed and amended as new techniques etc. come about. As a business, Bloom is very customer orientated. It is very focused on providing clients with the highest quality services, with the best customer experiences, and its students receive high-quality training in a professional learning environment. A good relationship with its students and clients is vital. And in order to provide students with the best possible support and knowledge, Emma and her staff continue attending training themselves. Nobody knows everything, and attending training enables the team to gain insight from elsewhere. More training, more knowledge, better training. The academy’s students also receive lifetime support after achieving their qualification. This allows it to help its students continue to grow within the industry and receive constant feedback and constructive criticism. Meanwhile, the academy was naturally affected by the COVID-19 national restrictions, and this was very worrying as it was unsure whether people would want to train in an industry which was closed for so many months last year. Since reopening though, it has been inundated with messages regarding training. Now more than ever, people appreciate having a plan B. Bloom is a small business and Emma has built it up singlehandedly from day one. From renovations to advertising to all the admin and customer care. So much love, care and attention goes into every service, consultation, and training day that is provided. This is evident by the large base of returning clients. It is now a well known business in the local area, despite being one of the newest salons. The future for Bloom is looking bright and ambitious. It is hoping to move to a bigger premises within the next few years which would allow it to have a separate salon and academy, meaning it can run more course days. This would also allow the academy to add more trainers. Everyone has a different perspective and insight so having more trainers will provide more knowledge and a richer experience for students.
