Vlad added, “It is also the answer we give every time someone asks how a team of our size, based in Baia Mare, delivers work at this scale.” Beyond Digipedia, Holisun maintains a steady pipeline of work with universities and public bodies across the country, including enrolment and student-record systems, regulatory assistants, and internationalisation tools. “People who join us figure out pretty quickly that we are not chasing the next consumer-app growth hack,” said Vlad. “We are building tools that universities, hospitals, and ministries will rely on for years.” Moving forward, Holisun will spend the next two years turning Digipedia from a regional success into something that other Romanian universities, and eventually universities across Europe, can rely upon. In Romania, the team is currently preparing a software-as-a-service version of the platform that other higher education institutions can deploy without embarking on a full procurement project from scratch each time. At the same time, its team is actively operating outside of Romania by bidding for public tenders in the European Union for Moodle-based and AI-integrated learning platforms. Because of the body of work it has built together with the West University of Timisoara, Holisun possesses the references and credibility to compete for that work. Looking to the future, Vlad concluded, “None of this is a hard reset of who Holisun is. Through the platform, teachers can put together personalised quizzes and homework aligned with their own course materials, draft personalised learning paths for individual pupils, and draw on a library of more than 3,000 reusable digital learning resources. What sets Digipedia apart in the market is that it pairs a fully featured Moodle environment with an AI assistant that lives inside the platform itself, rather than being bolted on. The assistant has permissioned access to course materials and pupil progress, which enables it to perform functions that a bolt-on chatbot cannot: generating assessments that match the teacher’s syllabus, explaining a concept at the pupil’s actual level, and refusing to wander outside the teacher’s validated knowledge base. “That last point matters more than people realise,” Vlad told us. “Misinformation and accidental plagiarism were the main reasons teachers in our partner schools mistrusted generalpurpose AI; we built the platform specifically to remove that distrust.” Where many leading education technology platforms launch in English and translate later, Holisun deliberately remained Romanian in design, for Romanian curricula. This decision has opened the Digipedia platform to thousands of teachers in counties such as Caras-Severin, Gorj, and Mehedinti, where teaching resources of this calibre have rarely been within reach. “The point of Digipedia was never market share; the point was making a measurable difference in how Romanian children are taught.” – Vlad Petcu, Senior Consultant, Holisun Today, Digipedia is trusted by approximately 6,000 inservice teachers located across seven counties in western and south-western Romania.
