Jul20344 the being, the having, from the dream, the reality’. The development of an entire company is based on the vision of its founder, and entire industrial and financial empires depend upon the integrity of an entrepreneurial dream. ESE therefore encourages agility, free thought, creativity, individuality and the ability to dream as they shape the next generation of business leaders. In 2020, ESE launched their innovative internship programme, ‘Smart Internship’. Initially established as a solution to the inability to carry out traditional internships due to the recent global pandemic, ‘Smart Internship’ connects students with company tutors through virtual meetings as they work to develop a shared project. Coordinated by the ESE Internship Office, this project allows students to develop organisational autonomy and time management skills whilst providing companies with the creative contributions of ESE students. ESE has also launched the innovative ExDuco project, inspired by the school’s motto, ‘Visibilia Ex Invisibilius’. The project sees students taking on leadership roles as they are given the opportunity to share their talents, knowledge and skills with peers as they take on the role of teacher for the day. It is transgressive teaching methods such as these that has inspired the creative thinking celebrated at ESE and contributed to the creation of the visionaries of the future. Contact: John Mosca Company: European School of Economics Web Address: www.ese.ac.uk ‘Visibilia ex Invisibilius’ “The European School of Economics is a business school that prepares pragmatic dreamers, visionary men and women capable of giving substance to the impossible, capable of creating wealth and supporting it. Happiness is an economy; only happy people can create a stable and prosperous society.” This is the vision of a business school dedicated to preparing the business leaders of the future, providing a higher education experience unlike any other. We took a closer look at this revolutionary business school. “The slightest change in your inner being moves mountains and projects yourself as a giant in the world of events. It can remove the endemic poverty of nations and entire civilizations, and ferry them from eras of war and fear towards peace. Humanity is rapidly moving towards a ‘not-doing’ civilization where truth, beauty, goodness and the pursuit of happiness are “the pillars of a shining new economically evolved society”. The advent of unemployment - of joblessness, will not be considered a time of crisis, depression or condemnation, but a glorious blessing, a conquered freedom finally achieved by man’s inner growth and understanding. One day a dreaming society will no longer work. A humanity that loves will be rich enough to dream and infinitely rich because it dreams.” Elio D’Anna, Founder and President of the European School of Economics (ESE), here puts forth his vision for the students of his institution, which provides opportunities to excel and become the leaders of the future. A college of international business that is fully accredited in the UK and awards a British degree from the University of Chichester, ESE is a school without borders, combining academic excellence, internationality and pragmatism. ESE does not just teach the fundamentals of economics, management, marketing or finance, but develops individuals to become the next generation of corporate leaders, visionary entrepreneurs and pragmatic dreamers. ESE is a new concept within higher education, situated across sites in London, New York, Madrid, Milan, Rome and Florence between which students are able to move freely as they follow their academic pathways, gaining an experience that combines passion for Italian culture, British academic rigour and American pragmatism. The ESE programme provides three years of study, two compulsory foreign languages and one year of specialisation within the economics and communication sector. Every course is followed by an internship programme that offers places in over a thousand large Italian and international companies. This compulsory and invaluable experience is integrated into the ESE method of education, setting it apart from competitors. ESE follows the principle, ‘Small Classes, Big Care’, keeping class sizes limited to twelve students so that each student is nurtured through their own path of personal growth and discovery. Each programme is designed to amplify the potential of ESE students, providing modules and learning activities that explore themes of happiness, creative idleness and inner economy, as well as academic preparedness. In accordance with the institution’s central philosophy, self-knowledge and integrity comes far before knowledge, education, wealth or social standing on the road to success. This unconventional model of education is founded on the school’s motto: ‘Visibilia ex Invisibilius’. ‘From the invisible, the visible, from Issue 11 2020 17
