6 CORPORATE VISION / Issue 12 2018 , Targa Telematics is an innovative Italian company focused on supporting a range of clients throughout the automotive sector, incorporating the latest technological developments and offering customers outstanding service. We invited Nicola deMattia, winner of Most Influential CEO of the Year – Telematics in our prestigious 2018 Corporate Excellence Awards to learnmore about the firmand howhe has helped drive it to the success it enjoys today. Driving the Automotive Industry to Success Part of the Elda group, a pioneer in the information technology industry since the 1980s, Targa Telematics is an IT orient- ed company with over 30 years of experience in the Internet of Things and connected vehicles. Its high-tech solutions range from telematics to smart mobility, and all of them are designed to add value to its clients, who span the entire automotive market. Nicola begins by discussing how the firm works to support its clients and the range of innovative solu- tions it produces for them. “Backed by a dynamic group that has been at the forefront of devel- opments in the IoT market for over 30 years, Targa Telematics draws on this vast wealth of experience to support its clients through today’s digital challenges. Working with car makers, car rentals, automotive leasing companies and insurance firms, we provide unique solutions to meet their needs. “To achieve this, we build lasting relationships with every client we have the pleasure of supporting. We collaborate with them over many years and learn exactly how their business operates so that we can suggest solutions that will overcome any challeng- es they may face. This client focused approach has helped us to increase exponentially our turnover in the recent past: this year alone we made 35 million euros in revenue.” Such remarkable growth would be impossible without a dedicat- ed team of staff and exceptional leadership. As such, Nicola is understandably eager to explore the firm’s internal culture and how this is firmly focused on providing added value to every client. “As part of Targa Telematics’ ongoing focus on developing our solutions and adapting to changes in our market, we invest heavily in our staff, and our internal culture revolves around supporting them and nurturing their ambitions to help them grow and prosper within the company. We have an open culture which allows for the free sharing of ideas and knowledge, so that everyone can benefit from the collective wisdom and use it to provide our clients with industry leading service and support. “When hiring new staff, we always aim to bring on board trained Product Owners who are willing to work alongside us and our clients to adapt their solu- tions and use their knowledge to benefit us and drive Targa Tele- matics forward. Innovation is vital in our market and as such we are always rewarding our staff for creating new ideas and thinking outside of the box.” For every member of staff and every project, the firm imple- ments a set of core values which Nicola comments on. “Each and every one of our es- teemed team members adheres to our core values: honesty, bravery and communication. These values are how we grow and prosper as a company and as such they inform everything we do, whether it be our dealings with our customers or an internal communication.” Now has never been a better time for automotive companies to work with Targa Telematics, particularly following the recent challenges and changes that the industry has seen, which Nicola outlines. “Over the past few years there have been many changes within the automotive sector, particu- larly in Italy, where we based. As such, our local market is very respective to our products and they are keen to ensure that they overcome these challenges and are able to offer their clients a truly cutting-edge solution.” With the future stretched in front of it, Targa Telematics has many exciting developments ahead of it as it seeks to grow even further and achieve even greater success. Nicola has high hopes for the firm and is proud to share these with us in his concluding comments. “The future for Targa Telematics revolves around both growth and innovation, as we seek to grow by 50% year-on-year for the coming two years. This 1810CV04 growth will be impossible without remaining at the forefront of emerging market developments, and as such we bring a new feature to market every 15 days. This impressive feat is possible thanks to the Agile methodology we adopt in our development processes, giving ample proof that we are committed to offering our customers the solutions they need in today’s digital market- place. “We are now keen to offer our award-winning services to more clients, and as such we are seeking to expand internationally as well as domestically. In 2016, we opened a new headquarters in Paris and we will shortly open other offices in Europe and US aimed at developing all the most important markets. At the same time, we are also exploring new sectors where telematics can bring enormous advantages to all stakeholders involved. For example, we currently play a pi- oneering role in the digitalization of the ground handling sector, contributing to new levels of effi- ciency and safety. Continuity and excellence remain central to our approach, and we look forward to a bright future.” Company: Targa Telematics Contact: Nicola de Mattia Address: Via Enrico Reginato 87, Treviso, 31100, Italy Phone: 00390422247911 Website: www.targatelematics.com
