Having secured its much- deserved success in the Small Business Awards 2020, we got in touch with Ary Kurniawan to find out more about why the firm deserved the title of Best IT Consultancy – Indonesia. Established in 2014, ED-SEN Consulting help its clients translate their business processes into systems with their professionalism, experiences, and methodology. To start, Ary provides a brief overview of the firm and offers more insight into its clientele. “As an IT consulting firm we specialise in enterprise resource planning, business intelligence, big data and enterprise performance management. To help organisations align and transform, our experienced consultants have a strong track record to call upon”. Across Indonesia, the firm are in direct competition with several IT consulting players. However, as Ary goes on to explain, adopting a client-focused approach and a commitment to innovation has enabled the team to stand out from the crowd. “To ensure we deliver what the customer wants, we need to have a good implementation of technology. Moreover, by focusing on our customers’ expectations, we can build long-term relationships and develop businesses”. Although ED-SEN Consulting have managed to reach a number of milestones during its time, supply and demand remains an ongoing challenge for the firm as Ary points out. “Supply and demand has become a challenge for us as it’s always not connected and as a result, driving the business on the right track becomes so difficult. Naturally then, business analytics and performance are vitally important in this regard, particularly with the decision making for others”. When undertaking any new project, ED-SEN Consulting adopt a meticulous approach to ensure a successful outcome is achieved for the client as Ary explains further. “Firstly, we set a project goal to ensure we can meet the needs of the stakeholders. Secondly, in regards to project deliverables, we create a list of things the project needs to deliver and specify when and how to deliver each item to establish more accurate delivery dates during the scheduling phase. In project scheduling, we then create a list of detailed tasks that need to be carried out for each deliverable, such as the amount of effort (hours or days) required for completing the task and the resource who will carry this out. Finally, we support plans which can include a HR plan, identifying by name the individuals to lead a role in the project. For each, we describe the roles and responsibilities on the project and communications plan by doing weekly or monthly status reports, describing how the project is performing, the milestones achieved and the work we have planned”.
