Media Innovator Awards 2021
Most Empowering Media Maker Support Organisation 2021 Creative COW has seen many notable accomplishments during its two decades of life, the most recent of which is being awarded Most Empowering Media Maker Support Organisation 2021. We speak to Founder and CEO, Ronald Lindeboom, about the secrets to its incredible success. Creative COW has been serving media professionals in the fields of film, broadcast, corporate, and other areas of video production since 2001. The firm’s primary focus is to assist in the high-stress world of looming deadlines and to render technical support, inspiration, and assistance through its network of peer-to-peer support in an online community that today serves nearly a million people a month. “Having begun by serving Baby Boomers and GenX, Creative COW has continued to grow until it is now serving a membership of over 70% GenY and GenZ,” explains Ronald Lindeboom. “Nearly half of our audience is female and nearly two-thirds are outside the United States, as we strive hard to build a worldwide creative community that is nurturing and which eschews sexism, bigotry, and jingoism.” As CEO of Creative COW and then as publisher of Creative COW Magazine, Ronald draws on a wide range of skills developed during his 40-year background in media, marketing, and business management. However, he is proud of the fact the almost no-one knows who the people behind the brand are. “The focus is not on our founders nor even on Creative COW,” he elaborates. “It is squarely focused on those who are doing the work in the crucible or production and whose voices are those who matter most - voices that can encourage other members with the kind of real-world support and advice that only comes from experience and time spent in the trenches of meeting deadlines.” Indeed the ‘figurehead’ and face of the brand is none other than Bessie – one of the best-known logos in the world of media production. Bessie is a trademark that has become a prominent and an encouraging face to those working in professional media production and plays off the name Creative COW, which stands for the Creative Communities of the World. Ronald believes Creative COW’s success is measured by those whom it has helped build careers in many of the largest film, broadcast, and streaming entities on the planet. One recent success story is found in Kylee Peña, who is now at the world’s leading streaming entertainment company, and who today also serves as part of the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers (SMPTE). Of her time as a leader with Creative COW, Kylee says: “I’m from a small town in Indiana. I’m female. I had no connections in the film and television industry, or in any other part of media. I’m not supposed to succeed in entertainment. But because of Creative COW, I was able to learn and share in an enormous global community while I was isolated financially and geographically from the greater industry. Because of the reach of the COW, my voice was heard and listened to early in my career. That established a foundation for me to build a successful life in Hollywood. And as I meet all kinds of people from many different backgrounds who are now able to work their way up in the industry, I know I’m not the only one who was empowered by the access given to us by Creative COW.” There are many other success stories that Ronald can share but the most recent feather in his cap is receiving the accolade of Most Empowering Media Maker Support Organisation 2021 in the Corporate Vision Media Innovator Awards. “Creative COW has always been a very fluid entity due to the nature of the community we serve, whose voices and input are the very backbone of who we are and what we do.” Contact: Ronald Lindeboom Company: Creative COW LLC Web Address: www.creativecow.net Aug21167
