Corporate Vision Cyber GRC Innovators of the Year 2026 & Virtual Technology Leadership Excellence Award 2026 Based in Auckland, New Zealand, Unisphere Solutions is the company behind Minimum Viable Protection (MVP), a world-first platform designed as a response to the growing need for good cyber governance. MVP is a real, live platform that is ready to help organisations qualify and quantify their cyber risk appetite and cyber posture, as well as to provide a remediation roadmap. For more on how it achieves this, as well as the innovation and leadership behind Unisphere Solutions, we caught up with James Dickinson, its vCIO, vCSO, and director. Empowering businesses to secure, grow, and innovate, Unisphere Solutions was founded on the back of James Dickinson’s decade of experience in technology sales, during which he recognised the lack of technology strategy support provided to New Zealand’s mid-market organisations. This view was only compounded during his time spent as CIO for a range of large organisations, where he had plenty of opportunities to engage with other businesses across New Zealand. However, this is not all. During the more than two decades James has spent engaging with technology in both New Zealand and Australia, he has identified a significant gap in strategic planning capabilities across almost all organisations. He explained: “This shows up firstly in business strategy and flows through to poor technology strategy. As a result, the engine of our economy is vastly detuned and underperforming compared to its potential.” James then added: “The proof point is our GDP per capita and our consistently poor productivity stats compared to almost all other modern economies.” Given he is a passionate New Zealander, James really wants to see New Zealand’s businesses succeed, and this means finding a way to support the secure, stable, innovative, cost-effective technology environment that powers every organisation in the country. This is the nexus behind Unisphere Solutions, which brings together leading industry experts across the fundamental areas of cyber governance, assessment, and remediation planning. The environment Unisphere Solutions operates in is one where the gap between boards/senior executives and IT/cybersecurity teams has never been greater. All of this in a world that is becoming increasingly dangerous from a cybersecurity standpoint, and where strict compliance means organisations must have both the knowledge and the ability to achieve an appropriate cyber posture relevant to their cyber risk appetite. Crucially, for most organisations, this does not mean going for the certification of a major cyber standard, as this is simply unrealistic. Instead, James told us: “Roughly 5% of organisations should Unisphere Solutions

Technology Innovator Awards 2026 | 5 target accreditation against a major standard, and around 15% of organisations are arguably too small to take a formal approach to cybersecurity. This leaves 80% of the market that absolutely needs to align their cyber posture with their risk appetite to achieve an appropriate level of cybersecurity.” There to support the market with everything from cyber assessments to cybersecurity audits, Unisphere exists to provide the virtual IT leadership organisations need, on demand through ad hoc or retainer-based engagements. Its support covers chief information officer (CIO), chief digital officer (CDO), chief security officer (CSO), and chief technology officer (CTO) capabilities, thus allowing mid-sized organisations to engage with field experts at an accessible rate. “This injection of capability fills the gap that most commonly exists on most senior leadership or executive teams in New Zealand’s mid-market organisations, which is defined by companies with greater than $25 million in revenue and less than $250 million in revenue.” Minimum Viable Protection (MVP) is the primary way in which Unisphere Solutions is responding to New Zealand’s calls for better cyber governance, with this being the only platform of its kind to seek input from the governance layer within a client’s organisation, which includes the board and senior executives, through a simple questionnaire covering key topics all related to governance. Simply put, this allows the platform to score the cyber risk appetite for the organisation, assessing five crucial areas based on the perceived impact of a cyber event. These areas span the impact in revenue or ability to trade, the impact on reputation, the impact on the regulatory environment governing the organisation, the likely impact on sensitive information or PII data, and the organisation’s overall business risk appetite. James commented: “This allows us to produce an overall risk appetite score, as well as an individual score for revenue risk, reputational risk, regulatory risk, and PII or sensitive data risk. Having individual risks as well as an overall risk score is critical to the success of our novel approach. We then use our patented approach to scoring how secure an organisation is, otherwise known as your cyber posture.” MVP’s cyber posture is aligned with the major standards of ISO/ IEC 27001-2022, NIST-CSF, and CIS V8, with the team having control mapped these three standards to align them, then grouped the controls into 20 common and local groupings. A maturity assessment was then developed for each grouping. Essentially, this allows MVP to assess an organisation’s posture by asking it to select its level of cyber maturity against the 20 key control groups, without having to carry out a lengthy and highly technical assessment. This makes the cyber assessment relevant, rapid, and achievable for mid-market organisations. Once the cyber risk appetite and cyber posture score are both achieved, and represented as a number out of five, James and the team can begin the required uplift for an organisation to reach the minimum viable protection state or appropriate cyber posture. Here, the client’s organisation is invited to attach evidence items against its self-scored posture, with these notes able to cover each of the 20 control group selections. MVP then has the capability within its platform to invite an independent auditor to assess these items. As for the cyber remediation plan itself, this is tailored to the needs of the organisation in question, with the overarching aim being to lift the posture to be at or even slightly above the cyber risk appetite. Unisphere Solutions’ cyber GRC innovators do this by looking at the gap between the current score per control and the target score, before ranking these remediation items based on what they will address and how important that areas is. Exploring this further, James said: “The remediation plan articulates what needs to be done to lift the posture to an appropriate level using what we call the four Ps. 1. You need a person or resource to perform an action, 2. You need a policy to fill an identified gap, 3. You need a documented procedure or process to ensure actions are undertaken correctly and consistently, 4. You need a platform or product to close a technical capability gap.” The MVP platform again proves incredibly useful here, allowing the client to follow the stated cyber remediation plan, updated their posture based on delivering/achieving each of the remediation items, and automatically rescoring the posture in order to track progress. This leads to cyber risk appetite being articulated in a meaningful way, allows the technology team to share how secure they are, and provides access to targeted, critically ranked remediation. “This keeps all parties aligned and focused on a common goal in what is usually a highly technical and amorphous domain area. This is the true power of the minimum viable protection approach and SaaS application.” Real, live, and available for organisations to subscribe to in order to get on top of their cyber remediation roadmap, MVP is undoubtedly up there with the best cyber GRC platforms. With Unisphere Solutions also partnering with managed service providers to deliver its independent platform directly to customers, the paradox of vendor-led cyber strategy is also solved. Finally, by covering capability and plugging the knowledge gaps that are always going to exist in organisations, MVP is proving itself to be the ‘MVP’. Offering all of this at just a fraction of the cost of a client’s current providers, Minimum Viable Protection is certainly something organisations should check out if they are looking to get the most out of fortifying their cybersecurity. The jewel in the crown of Unisphere Solutions’ portfolio, the platform has undoubtedly played a huge part in the company’s recognition with two titles here in our Technology Innovator Awards 2026. Corporate Vision This creates a genuine organisational single source of truth, improving transparency, accountability, and the quality of management decisions. It also enables real estate companies to expand their portfolios without allowing operational complexity and risk to grow at the same rate. By combining integrated operations, real-time analytics, and AI-enabled decision support, Proptech transforms technology from a supporting tool into a strategic capability for real estate organisations. In a competitive market, Proptech also stands out for offering compliance by design. Saudi regulatory requirements are embedded within the platform’s processes rather than being treated as a separate or retrospective exercise. In doing so, Proptech ensures strengthened governance and reduced operational risk for its clients, enabling them to respond effectively to regulatory change. Finally, the platform is further distinguished for its practical application of artificial intelligence. Instead of treating AI as an isolated feature, Proptech progressively adopts and embeds advanced AI models into its operations to develop AI-supported investment decision platforms, housing market intelligence and observatory models, predictive analytics, intelligent workflow automation, and digital tools that empower brokers, developers, and investors alike. As the technological landscape continues to evolve, Proptech remains controlled in its approach. The company applies artificial intelligence only to address genuine sector challenges and will never adopt the technology for its own sake alone. For this reason, every model utilised by Proptech has been specifically designed to transform fragmented data into insights, identify opportunities and risk, improve forecasting, and enable faster, evidence-based decisions. This industry-leading platform has been created and streamlined through a unique, ecosystem-driven approach. Proptech does not develop its technology in isolation, instead choosing to collaborate closely with national housing, facilities management, brokerage, regulatory, professional, and academic organisations to ensure that its solutions respond to genuine market needs and create wider institutional value. Through the years, Proptech has reinforced its growth through strategic collaboration with NHC Innovation, the Saudi Facility Management Association, the Cooperative Most Innovative Integrated PropTech Platform 2026 – Saudi Arabia In today’s fast-paced world of property management, every detail matters. The landscape is evolving at a rapid pace, and PropTech is playing a direct role in reshaping this growth by addressing the industry’s historical inefficiencies. Developed in Riyadh, Proptech is a leading property management system that provides property managers with complete control over their operations, all through a single, integrated platform that guarantees efficiency, accuracy, and security to clients across the sector. We took a closer look at this industry-leading development below, as Proptech is named in the Technology Innovator Awards 2026. Since its inception in 2023, Proptech has been on a mission to build the digital operating infrastructure needed to create a more connected, efficient, and data-driven real estate sector. Today, the Saudi Arabian real estate technology company serves more than 120 real estate businesses, providing scalable technology that grows alongside its clients and responds to the changing needs of the Saudi Arabian real estate sector. At the heart of Proptech’s offering is a secure, cloud-based real estate ERP platform that has been purpose-built for the Saudi market. The bilingual platform manages the complete real estate lifecycle within one integrated ecosystem, from project development, CRM, marketing, sales, and off-plan sales to contracts, collections, financial management, property and asset management, facilities management, and maintenance. Through automated workflows, real-time dashboards, governance controls, and data analytics, Proptech enables developers, investment companies, property managers, and brokerage firms to improve operational efficiency, strengthen transparency, and make faster, better-informed decisions. It supports integration with government and financial ecosystems, including ZATCA e-invoicing requirements, Wafi-related processes, and real estate advancing permits, while providing flexible APIs for wider integration. What truly distinguishes Proptech is that the platform is neither a generic ERP adapted to real estate nor a collection of disconnected applications, which merely digitise isolated tasks. This is one of the most award-worthy aspects of the platform: its ability to transform Saudi real estate expertise, regulatory complexity, and fragmented operations into a unified, scalable, intelligent, and internationally competitive technology platform. Unlike generic ERP systems or disconnected applications, Proptech connects the entire real estate lifecycle, including projects, units, customers, contracts, payments, financial data, assets, and operational processes. This allows information created at one stage to remain structured, visible, and accountable through every subsequent stage; a sales decision can be connected directly to inventory, contracts, collections, financial performance, and asset operations without relying on disconnected systems or spreadsheets.

Furthermore, the company also supports international knowledge exchange through initiatives involving the FIABCI, the University of Oxford’s Saïd Business School, and Eye of Riyadh. For its exceptional contributions towards digitising the real estate sector, Proptech has earned significant national and international recognition, including the Saudi Real Estate Excellence Award in the PropTech category and the opportunity to represent Saudi innovation at the 76th FIABCI World Real Estate Congress in Vienna. Now, the platform has earned further acclaim in the Technology Innovator Awards 2026, as we at Corporate Vision Magazine recognise Proptech as Saudi Arabia’s Most Innovative Integrated PropTech Platform 2026. This acknowledgement is recognition of Proptech’s success in transforming complex and fragmented real estate operations into a unified, intelligent, and scalable digital platform. It also reflects the company’s unwavering contribution towards strengthening national digital capabilities and supporting the ambitions of Saudi Vision 2030. Corporate Vision Magazine would like to extend our most heartfelt congratulations to the entire team at Proptech and cannot wait to see what is next in its mission to build a more connected, efficient, and data-driven real estate sector.
