ForceN has developed a patented, paper-thin force-sensing film (ForceFilmTM) that can be laminated into any surgical robot, medical instrumentation or automated equipment to provide a real-time human-level sense of touch (1 gram-force & up), without modifying the structure's surface. This sensing is done by measuring the deformation or strain of the structure itself. Our force-sensing film is part of a complete force-sensing solution that measures, minutest force/torque data in 6+ degrees-of-freedom and includes a systems electronics module along with a force analytics/machine learning software layer.
