QI Group’s 2026 UN Global Compact Communication on Progress Reflects Strengthened ESG Governance

24th September 2026

QI Group has submitted its 2026 United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) Communication on Progress (CoP), reaffirming its commitment to responsible business practices and the UNGC’s Ten Principles. The submission, covering QI Group and its subsidiaries from January 2025 to June 2026, sets out the Group’s progress in strengthening sustainability governance and advancing its Group Sustainability Blueprint, underpinned by the People, Planet and Principles (3Ps) Framework and a five-year Sustainability Roadmap, while embedding Environmental, Social and Governance considerations across its operations and building greater accountability throughout the organisation.

QI Group is a multinational conglomerate operating across more than 30 countries, with a workforce of more than 2,000 people drawn from approximately 50 nationalities. Its businesses span wellness and lifestyle products, higher education, hospitality, luxury watchmaking, and direct selling. The CoP is the UN Global Compact’s annual reporting mechanism for participating companies, providing a transparent account of how businesses are advancing responsible practices across human rights, labour, environment, and anti-corruption.

Strengthening ESG Governance

During the reporting period, QI Group focused on strengthening the policies, structures, and internal capabilities that underpin its sustainability agenda. Key developments included the strengthening of the Group’s Sustainability Governance Committee and its cross-functional ESG governance, alongside progress in advancing the Sustainability Policy, Human Rights Policy, and Supplier Code of Business Conduct. The Group also progressed the development of its Group Sustainability Blueprint, including the identification of material ESG priorities, to guide implementation across the Group.

The Group also launched Project SEED, its sustainable procurement and event governance framework designed to embed ESG considerations into procurement, supplier engagement, product development, merchandise decisions, and event reviews, demonstrating how ESG considerations are integrated into business decision-making rather than treated as a standalone initiative. The Group continued to build employee awareness through ESG learning and capability-development initiatives.

Expanding Sustainability Partnerships

Collaboration remained a central part of QI Group’s approach over the reporting period, spanning several strategic focus areas of the Group’s sustainability strategy.

On circularity and resource efficiency, the Group expanded the QI Tower Aspen Recycling Initiative with Aspen Recycling and SustainHub, strengthening recycling activity and environmental data tracking at QI Tower, the Group’s operational headquarters in Petaling Jaya. It also advanced circular economy and waste-reduction efforts through continued work with Control Union Malaysia and Kita Refill.

On stakeholder engagement and community partnerships, QI Group continued its collaboration with Penang Green Council.

On responsible supply chains and supplier capability building, the Group expanded supplier engagement through participation in the UN Global Compact Malaysia & Brunei RANTAiX Programme.

At the global level, reflecting the Group’s commitment to ESG leadership and knowledge sharing, QI Group joined the World Economic Forum’s Chief Sustainability Officers Community, a platform supporting knowledge exchange and collaboration on responsible business practices among sustainability leaders worldwide.

Embedding Sustainability Across the Organisation

Ramya Chandrasekaran, Group Chief Communications Officer of QI Group, connected the submission to the Group’s broader ESG strategy. “Our 2026 Communication on Progress reflects the steady progress we are making in embedding sustainability across the Group,” she said. “Guided by our People, Planet and Principles Framework and Sustainability Blueprint, we are strengthening governance, responsible business practices and cross-functional collaboration while laying the foundations for long-term value creation.”

Looking Ahead

QI Group has indicated that it will continue strengthening its approach to ESG governance, responsible supply chains, human rights, environmental stewardship, and stakeholder engagement. By the end of 2026, the Group aims to finalise and seek Board endorsement for its Group Sustainability Blueprint, anchored by its People, Planet and Principles (3Ps) Framework and a five-year Sustainability Roadmap that will guide its long-term sustainability priorities.

The 2026 CoP reflects another milestone in QI Group’s long-term sustainability journey, as the Group continues strengthening governance, embedding responsible business practices, and advancing its People, Planet and Principles (3Ps) Sustainability Framework across its global operations. Together, these initiatives strengthen governance, enhance organisational resilience, and support long-term value creation across the Group.
